"You don't smile in photographs," Taki remarked to Hiyoshi once. Hiyoshi had shrugged at the statement, replied that he didn't like photographs and the conversation had tailed off there.

"There's no point in putting on a false smile just for a photo," Hiyoshi said, and Taki could agree with that sentiment somewhat. But it wasn't just school photos, but all photos - tennis, martial arts, always fierce concentration as though Hiyoshi never relaxed. Not that Hiyoshi didn't, but who ever took pictures of something so commonplace?

There was a growing pile of pictures of Hiyoshi underneath Taki's bed. Sleeping, eating, reading, whenever Hiyoshi wasn't looking - Taki had learned to carry a camera around with him now. It was a little silly, he supposed, but it was worth it if only for memories. Of a looser, more gentle Hiyoshi, if anything.

Hiyoshi groaned, shifted weight on the couch as Taki pressed hands and lips to the top of Hiyoshi's head. "Taki?"

"Go back to your nap," and Hiyoshi grumbled but took his advice anyway. Taki hummed to himself cheerfully, prepared the film…
